Jorge Iturrieta’s AlphaGraphics Legacy

“My experience with Alphagraphics started way back in 1985 at the store in Stockton California.

Those were the beginnings of “Desktop Publishing” era… who would have known that 25 years later I would join in Alphagraphics West valley in Utah?

I started out as Inside Customer Service rep and moved in a few months to a remote copy center at Varex Imaging corporation as Account Manager for 9 years. 

This year I took a new position at our Alphagraphics group that I am excited to start and be able to utilize my vast experiences in the business of Graphics and Printing. 

I have been in graphics for as long as I remember! It was at the “Escuela de Diseno”, Universidad de Chile, Valparaiso that I got my Graphic Design education and finished my studies at the University of California Sacramento, where I obtained a teaching credential as Graphic Communication Art Instructor and taught graphics at the high school level for over a dacade.

I have been blessed on my journey throughout this life in this industry. My various jobs have taken me to travel and live in places as remote and beautiful as Thailand, Peru, Chile, etc., California was home for 14 years where I taught graphics in high school and owned a mining supply export and import business.

We are a multicultural family. I’m happily married to my beautiful Cambodian wife and proud father of 4 beautiful kids – 2 girls and 2 boys – ages from 40+ to elementary school age. I’m very proud of my Basque roots and my love for Southeast Asia culture. I try to teach and preserve my kids’ culture by being very active in the Chilean community as well as the Thai and Cambodian communities. 

People and cultures fuel my passion for creating, writing, and cooking; there is no greater reward for me than to share a home-cooked meal with family and friends.”

Jorge joins AlphaGraphics and quickly assumes managing the Varian Imaging Copy Center.

Jorge assumes a new role of outside Sales at our Millcreek Business Center

Jorge takes on the challenge of managing our ARUP facility.

  2. Jorge’s devotion to helping businesses succeed with their graphics knew no bounds, always putting in effort above and beyond whatever it takes to make them look great. Working late, working weekends, whatever it takes. Everyone loves working with Jorge and is better off for it. Jorge always took care of AlphaGraphics people too, whether it was cooking food for us or taking photos at our events and gatherings to share with everyone afterwards. His devotion to his Gilda is awesome as we see her grow, often accompanying him while he takes care of another customer’s urgency. On top of all that, Jorge served as shop DJ, filling the workplace with music and jokes whenever he was around, leaving a trail of Jorge wrappers as he went. Love you, man.

  3. When I first started working at AG, I heard about this guy named Jorge. Then from time to time it would be a hello while he was grabbing a job at the West Valley shop, then maybe a witty joke would come out. I didn’t really KNOW who Jorge was or what he was about until I started training to help cover the Varian copy center. (Varex now 😜) This was when I was able to learn why everyone at Varian LOVED him and learn about the honorable stories of him and his family and the hardships he has overcome. How caring and thoughtful he is and that he loves to make people laugh. Jorge loves his fancy scarfs, cologne, and is an amazing chef (his potstickers are THE best). True to his culture and loves his family. Thanks for all the laughs, hugs, and many years of friendship. Love 🫶🏻 Derity

  4. Jorge, you are one of a kind, full of love, life and food, always wanting to help with what you can and we can all smell your great cologne coming from afar. Thanks for all you have helped in the past with Varex you are still missed there and always remembered by all.

  5. Jorge is such an amazing person, he is kind, caring and so friendly. Jorge was like a father and friend, very easy and comfortable to talk to. He was always willing to listen and to help and always tried his best. I enjoy watching him with Gilda and showing us photos of them having a good time, embracing their culture and more. Jorge always brought us food to eat and always sharing. It had been a pleasure working with him and getting to know him as a coworker and as a friend. I hope we will always be friends and wish him and his family the best and happiness.

  6. I started working with Jorge at just 17 years old. He was always such a light in my life and I always knew whether it be work related or personal he would always be there for me. I got to work side by side and fill in for him over at Varex. And man did they love him. You could tell by the countless time I got asked where he was or the glares I got because it was me and not him in the copy center. One thing I always enjoyed was the many different restaurants he would take me too so I could try different ethic foods. We had so many laughs together and times I will never forget. Jorge you always left an impression on everyone you came in contact with as well as your scent of cologne. 🤣🫶🏼 Thank you for being such an amazing friend and someone that was more like family for so many years, for always being a listening ear and always being there.
